What's new in Drupal 7 Alpha 1 ?

Yesterday, January 15, 2010 was a big day for Drupal. Our beloved CMS became 9 years old! And boy, did it mature well. To celebrate its birthday, Webchick (Angie Byron), Drupal 7's maintainer released the first alpha version of Drupal 7.

Since a lot of people are wondering what's new in version 7, I decided to gather a list where you can find this out.

Where to find out what's new in Drupal 7?

What's new for module developers and themers?

My presentation on what's new in Drupal 7

Thanks, this is indeed a presentation I did a few months ago, feature wise it's still pretty relevant, but looks have indeed changed. I cleared this up in the post now. Thanks!

Hey there, nice presentation but some of the material used is a bit outdated.

The toolbar got an extra "home" link, the contextual links now look pretty tight (imo) and the installer now runs in the seven theme

just wanted to clear that up :)
